The Courage to Be Honest
It takes courage to be honest. Not just with other people — but with yourself. And most of all, with God.
Hiding is as old as humanity itself. From the very first moment sin entered the picture, our instinct has been to cover, to conceal, to perform. To show up as the version of ourselves we think is acceptable instead of the one that actually needs help.
But God has always wanted something different from us. Not the polished version. Not the performed version. The real one. The one we’re most afraid to show.
There is a moment — and maybe you know this moment — where you finally stop running. Where you come to yourself. Where the gap between who you’re pretending to be and who you actually are becomes too wide to keep crossing. And in that moment, if you’re brave enough to be honest, everything changes.
Because God doesn’t see what everyone else sees. He has always looked at the heart. He already knows what’s there. The question is whether we’re courageous enough to stop hiding it from ourselves.
The courage to be honest is the beginning of freedom.
God has always loved you. Always has and always will. No matter what.
